Y’know, Hidan’s backstory made me think a little bit. How could a man be so violent and murderous for no reason? Then it hit me like a tri-bladed scythe to the skull. He wasn’t NATURALLY violent, he was TRAINED to be.
Let me explain. He was taught from a young age that shinobi were to be used as military forces and do anything necessary to keep the village safe, including straight up slaughter. In fact, he was told repeatedly to kill anyone who posed as a threat to the security of the village. Then one day, Yugakure suddenly said that they were staying out of politics and re-opening as a tourist destination, Hidan was utterly blown away. He’d been taught to slaughter, kill without mercy all his life, just to one day wind up as a tour guide. He fought the head of Yuga on the subject for days until he finally snapped. Hidan slaughtered his neighbours and left. He needed an outlet for his anger and violent tendencies and that outlet became Jashinism, along with his disrespectful behaviour. And the rest is history.
In conclusion, he isn’t a naturally violent man or a sufferer of a mental disorder such as Anti-Social Personality Disorder, he’s been brainwashed like the poor children of Nazi Germany.
But anyways, I could be wrong, and I own up to that.
